What are the schools like in Sandiacre?
If you have young children or are looking to start a family there are great options for infant schools, there is Ladycross which is rated outstanding by Ofsted & Cloudside academy which is rated good, Ladycross offers places to children aged 3-7 and Cloudside academy is for those 7-11 this provides a smooth path to senior school.
Friesland School offers places to those 11-18 so allows for your child to be nurtured into adulthood with teachers that have seen them grow up. With a capacity of 1100+, this allows for your children to learn in a diverse environment with good quality teaching to help nurture their growth.
What shops are local to Sandiacre?
Sandiacre boasts a selection of local shops ranging from a high street brand like The Cooperative, Lidl, and some smaller convenience stores. There is also Sandiacre pet shop if you’re looking for a gift for your furry friend.
Where can I go to for a bite to eat in Sandiacre?
Sandiacre offers a wide range of food places whether that be cafes, restaurants, or pubs. With such options as Buonissimo which is an excellent cafe/restaurant that frequently plays live music in the evening, there is Burger King for a fast food option but for dine-in/takeaway The Thai Legend is an excellent option for a date night. There is Sergio’s kebab house & takeaway for those nights that you don’t have the energy cook and what some delicious & filling food.
Where can I walk my dog in Sandiacre?
There are a variety of parks & footpaths in the local area: Stoney clouds local nature reserve provides excellent views for walks and can be easily incorporated into your routes & local paths. There are also huge areas of green space in Risley which neighbours Sandiacre if you’re looking for a change of scenery however these walks will likely require you to bring some wellies… your shoes will thank you for this.
What’s the nightlife like in Sandiacre?
If you’re looking for a chilled night & atmosphere Buonissimo which I previously mentioned doubles as a bar by night if you’re looking for a night of classy cocktails this is the place for you. There is also a variety of pubs in Sandiacre such as The Blue Bell & The White Lion which are a hive of activity for locals and a great place for you to feel the warm sense of community that Sandiacre has to offer.
What are the public transport links in Sandiacre?
If you are looking to travel into the city of Nottingham Sandiacre provides a plethora of transport links with the i4 taking around 40 minutes to get you to the city centre with buses coming every 10-20 minutes, there is also the option of the My15 which takes slightly longer as it takes an alternative route.
It similarly takes the i4 around 40 minutes to get to Derby city centre so Sandiacre is a great middle point for commuters.
If you are working in Derby City Hospital or The QMC Sandiacre is a great area for you as it allows for easy commuting with relatively short journeys and means you can save money as property costs are cheaper when compared to inner-city homes.
